Ortonville/Lac Qui Parle Goose Hunting

ortonville_goose_huntingWelcome to western Minnesota’s best, where the largest concentration of Canada geese gather in big numbers. The Lac Qui Parle area near Ortonville and Odessa in western Minnesota is a goose hunting paradise. Sprawling with water and grain fields, the region annually hosts unbelievable numbers of Canada geese as they migrate south and stop for a long rest (usually until freeze-up) and stoke up on corn and soybeans left over in the grain fields.

You need access to those private fields to really get at the geese. That’s where Northern Migration Guide Service starts their service to you. Through our longstanding relationships with area landowners (we’ve been hunting here since the 1990s!), The Goose Guys secures the best fields and put you on the birds.pile_of_ducks_fall_hunting
Scouting is a must, and of course we do that for you too. Just show up and hunt one of fall’s greatest spectacles.

Our guided fall hunts for Canada Geese and Ducks take place in Hutchinson, MN, Ortonville, MN,  Western, MN, Pierre, SD and Rochester, MN. We offer hundreds of acres under lease in several counties, some of which are directly adjacent to game refuge lines. My refuge line fields are very productive when new birds roll in aka: migrators start moving in and become more concentrated.

Peak migration in Lac Qui Parle starts typically mid Nov.-Dec. Lac Qui parle is one of the top goose hunting destination in the US. It’s not uncommon to see thousands of migrators and local jumbos working our privately leased ground. Lac Qui Parle holds the largest concentration off both ducks and geese in the state. We offer waterfowlers the most prime late – season duck and goose hunting in Minnesota.
